Essie Advent Calendar 2017 - Days 8-14

Hello! Today I'm back to share the second week of my Essie advent calendar, including everything behind doors 8-14. If you missed days 1-7, you can find that post here. I was really impressed with the first week, so read on to see if that continued with the second!

Day 8 was a mini bottle of 'Tart Deco', a bright peachy coral creme. The formula is lovely and smooth, and easy to apply. The first coat was surprisingly opaque, and I only really needed a second to even out some streaks. Below is two coats with topcoat.

Day 9 was a mini bottle of 'All in One', which claims to be multi-treatment - by strengthening when used as a base coat, and leaving a glossy finish as a topcoat. I'll most likely just use this as a basecoat, which you can never have too many of!

Day 10 was a pair of toe separators. I honestly can't remember the last time I painted my toe nails as I basically live in socks, but maybe these will remind me to paint them soon!

Day 11 was a full size bottle of 'Luxedo', a deep plum purple. It has a smooth and easy to apply formula. The first coat does go on fairly patchy, but this is easily evened out with a second. After the second coat, this does pretty much look black. Below is two coats with topcoat.

Day 12 was a mini bottle of Essie's Color Corrector for Nails. This is intended to colour correct natural nails, neutralising any yellowness. My nails are slightly yellow from time to time from staining, but I can't say that it's ever bothered me. I'll still give this a go though!

Day 13 was a four-sided buffing block. I have a fair few of these lying around, and they do come in handy.

Day 14 was a mini bottle of 'Sugar Daddy', a very sheer pink. This is intended mainly for use in French manicures, so doesn't build up to full opacity. It has a smooth, easy to apply formula and goes on evenly. Below is three coats without topcoat.

What do you think? I have to be honest and say that I loved the first week a bit more than this one, but it's still been full of great surprises and I absolutely love opening my calendar every day. There's definitely something for every nail addict in here! I'll be back next week with the next seven days worth of goodies.

Surprisingly, the full Essie advent calendar is still in stock on the Superdrug website for only £25 here.

Hope to see you in the next post!
