Deletionista (Guest Post)

Hello lovelies! My guest posts continue with the lovely Emma - @deletionista over on Instagram, sharing her view on the massive world of Indie polishes. Read on to find out more, and for some gorgeous swatches.

While the lovely Becca (with the most amazingly long nails I’ve ever known *not even a little bit jealous*) is off enjoying her Christmas away, she offered some people to do a guest post, this is mine. I am Emma, Deletionista on Instagram and a self-confessed Nail Polish Addict.

The wonderful world of Indies…

If you’re reading this, you probably love nail polish. Am I right?!

Although I’ve been doing my own nails as a hobby for over a year now, I still see myself as a newbie to the nail world and the fantastic community that it hosts.

Remembering back to a couple of years ago, I would stand in the likes of Sally’s and marvel at all the different colours and finishes of the polish on display. Often spending way more than I originally intended on a handful of OPI and China Glaze. How things have changed…

The first time I saw an ‘indie’ polish was on the Nailasaurus blog. She’d used Different Dimensions – Duelling Unicorns in one of her manis. That was it; I was smitten/obsessed/like a magpie…

I googled, I searched and I joined Facebook groups, after a while I found Different Dimensions on the good old t’internet… In America. I almost cried. I’d never experienced ordering polish from the States. The cost of postage was more than I could reasonably justify. I was sad. I went and consoled myself with a basketful of BarryM in Boots.

After being a backseat Facebook group lurker, one day I found someone destashing a load of polish and she had my Unicorn! Lemming squished! Emma happy! Then it arrived and the obsession really began…

Fast forward over 12 months and Rainbow Connection takes more of my wages every month than I care to admit and I have some of the most beautiful nail polish, made by amazing people.

I love how indie makers genuinely care about their followers. There’s always fun, feedback and kindness. On the whole, every nail group that I am active in are the nicest, most supportive ladies (and a few gents) you could wish to know.

If you’ve ever dithered about trying something handmade, I encourage you to try it, just once… But I won’t be held accountable for your bank balance in a year’s time…

Merry Christmas All, Have a wonderful time and a peaceful New Year.

I want to say a huge thank you to Emma for sharing this with us! I have recently fallen into the world of indies, and have been slowly ordering loads to my Dad in the US ready for my Christmas holiday. Hopefully I'll be admiring them all while you read this! If you haven't yet, head over to Emma's Instagram here and give her a follow!

Hope to see you in the next post!
Becca x
