ORLY - Summer 2021 Electric Escape Collection

Hi lovelies! Today I have the ORLY Electric Escape Collection to share with you. After being so impressed with the Spring Road Trippin' Collection (see those here), I couldn't wait for ORLYs Summer offering to land here in the UK. I also hoped it would launch at a discounted price similar to Spring, and while slightly more expensive (£39.95 instead of £29.95), it did! The Summer 2021 Electric Escape Collection is full of bright/neon cremes. Read on for my full swatches and more info!

As always, I'll begin by addressing the formulas. I found them all smooth and easy to apply, helped by the flat wide brushes ORLY now uses. They vary in terms of opacity between two and three coats, so I'll mention that for each polish below. They all do dry down semi-matte, some more than others, due to the bright/neon pigments.

'Tangerine Dream' is described as a 'tangy tangerine creme'. This is a classic neon orange. I did find that this benefitted from a third coat on my nails to ensure a fully even coverage. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Artificial Orange' is described as a 'bright orange coral creme'. Again, I would consider this a neon. Though this was opaque for me in two coats, I could see it being on the border and needing a third depending on application. Below is two coats with topcoat.

'Kaleidoscope Eyes' is described as a 'bright lilac creme'. This was almost there for me in two coats, though I did need a quick third to even out some minor streaks. Depending on your application, you may be able to get away with two. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Synthetic Symphony' is described as a 'high voltage bright purple creme'. This tends to be the closest to neon purple that most brands release. Being one of the darker colours in the collection, it was one of the more opaque. Below is two coats with topcoat.

'Neon Paradise' is described as a 'bright lime green creme'. This is another one I would consider to be a neon. It was also the sheerest of the collection. I could still just about see my nail line after a third coat. Below is three coats with topcoat.

'Plastic Jungle' is described as a 'kelly green creme'. This one is impossible to photograph accurately - it is much brighter and greener in person. It reminds me of China Glaze 'Four Leaf Clover' for that reason. Below is two coats with topcoat.

What do you think? This collection really hit the spot for me! I wanted a fresh set of neon colours, but not a repeat of the same old shades. This was a perfect mix between neons and brights for me, and I love the uniqueness of some of the shades. I knew I'd love 'Plastic Jungle' before they even arrived, but 'Kaleidoscope Eyes' was a surprise favourite for me!

You can find the ORLY Electric Escape Collection on the ORLY UK website here, where the set is currently still on offer for just £39.95. For those in the US, you can find the collection on the ORLY US website here

Hope to see you in the next post!
