Hello! Today I have a look at September's MeeBox. If you missed my post for August's 'Pool Party' box, you can find that here. September's theme was Aphrodite, and was intended to make us all feel like Greek Goddesses. This is also in some ways the last MeeBox. Read on to find out why and for a look at everything we recieved!
First up for polishes is Cuccio 'Russian Opulence', a shimmery warm gold. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. I could just about see my nail line after two coats, so added a third to be sure. feel like we've had a few of these types of golds in MeeBox over the years - one of the MeeBox ladies must love them! Below is three coats with topcoat.
Next is Zoya Satin 'Ana', described as a 'toasted almond' creme. The formula is smooth and easy to apply. It dries down fairly quickly to the semi-matte finish (which I do really like!), but not quick enough to make application difficult. I had a few streaks after two coats so added a third. Below is three coats without topcoat.
Next is Nails Inc Gel Effect 'Baker Street', a bold cobalt blue creme. The formula is super smooth and easy to apply. This is a little bit sheer on the first coat, but it builds up really well with a second. I absolute love this type of blue shade. Below is two coats with topcoat.
To compliment our polishes, we also recieved Prism Polish's 'Frosting' matte topcoat, and several nail art goodies - a packet of Whats Up Nails vinyls in the Greek Stencils design, a small pot of gold shell studs from iZ Beauty of London, and gold striping tape from SensatioNail.
I couldn't stop there without creating my very own Aphrodite mani. I started off with a base of Nails Inc 'Baker Street'. I then roughly sponged on diagonal stripes of Zoya 'Ana' on each nail. I used the Whats Up Nails vinyls along with Cuccio 'Russian Opulence' on my pointer and middle nails. Finally, I added some of the iZ Beauty shell studs on my ring and pinky nails.
What do you think? I wasn't sure my final mani would come out the way I had pictured it, but thankfully it did and I absolutely love it! As mentioned, the MeeBox ladies have taken a change of direction and are no longer offering subscriptions. Instead, they have opened up a shop where older boxes are available to purchase and new themes are announced and released every three months. It will be weird not having their boxes as a monthly staple on my blog!
The new MeeBox shop is already up and running, so you can take a look for yourself here.
Hope to see you in the next post!
